Syntha 6 Protein Review Overview: A Leading Brand In the Supplement Industry
BSN (Bio-engineered Supplements & Nutrition) is one of the most worldwide known brands in the supplement industry who sponsor some world-class athletes. One of them being Connor McGregor.
Due to their high status in the supplement industry, you will rarely find a bad product from BSN. They have a huge range on the market including protein bars, amino acids, pre-workout, and mass gainers, but today we are going to concentrate on one of their flagship products “Syntha 6 Protein Powder”. Right, it’s time to get stuck in.
Syntha 6 Flavors and Taste: Sweet But Tasty
Let me start off by informing you that this product comes in a variety of flavours which include:
- strawberry milkshake
- vanilla ice cream
- chocolate peanut butter
- cookies and cream
- Cold Stone Germanchokolatekake (German chocolate cake)
- chocolate cake batter
- chocolate milkshake
Without a doubt, Syntha 6 is one of the best tasting protein powders you will ever experience. Flavours like cookies and cream and vanilla ice cream offer a real treat. Depending on the amount of liquid (preferably milk) use, you can make your drink taste like a creamy milkshake.
Syntha 6 is also available in peanut butter cookie and cinnamon bun as well as the Cold Stone creamery-mint mint chocolate chocolate chip and birthday cake remix flavours, but those come with different packaging.
I must warn you though. You will need to have a bit of a sweet tooth to enjoy some of these flavours long term. Luckily that’s not a problem for me.
How Does Syntha 6 Work: Nutrition Facts
Syntha 6 combines 22 grams of protein with 10 grams of amino acids into each serving. It works to boost muscle recovery after a challenging workout. Many of us know just how physically and mentally demanding a workout session can be. It’s important to provide the body with the nutrients it needs in order to recover and improve properly.
In addition, it has a few nutrients like calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium which are essential for your health.
Each scoop of Syntha 6 protein contains 15 grams of carbohydrates and 5 grams of fat. This may seem a little high to some but its worth mentioning that 5 grams of the 15 grams of carbs come from fibre. If however, you are looking for a really low fat and low carb protein then you would be better off with a good quality Whey. Check out my reviews of the best whey proteins on the market.
BSN Syntha 6 sits nicely between a high-quality low carb protein shake and a high quality all in one post-workout shake. What I mean by this, is that Syntha 6 isn’t a low carb shake but at the same time it’s not a high carb shake either. A post-workout all in one shake will usually contain at least 30 grams of carbs, double the amount found in Syntha 6.
Ingredients of BSN Syntha 6 Protein
Syntha 6 is made with a combination of slow and fast-digesting proteins.
Protein and Amino Acid Matrix:
Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC) – This is the liquid, extracted in the process of making cheese, that is dried up into powder. Whey protein concentrate, possessing 25 to 89% protein, is easily digested and has been reported to strengthen the immune system. As a major source of BCAAs and glutamine, it provides quicker muscle recovery and can help build lean muscle tissue.
Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) – This is mostly protein as it counts for 90% to 95%, containing very little fat and carbohydrates. Isolate has hardly any lactose, making it ideal for people who are lactose intolerant. Like whey concentrate, it is easily digested and can assist with muscle recovery as well as increasing mass.
Calcium Caseinate – It is an excellent source of essential amino acids with minerals calcium and phosphorus. It is also rich with BCAAs. Because calcium caseinate is slow to absorb and digest, it is ideal for taking before bed. It can help your muscles grow while you are resting.
Micellar Casein – This is slowly absorbed and boost protein synthesis. You can take it before you go to sleep as it works overnight.
Milk Protein Isolate – Milk Protein Isolate consists of 90% or more protein. It is mostly lactose-free and has a fat content of less than 3%.
Egg Albumen – This protein classifies as the liquid portion of an egg, which is known as egg whites.
Wheat Glutamine Peptides – These are great for post workout as it minimizes soreness of the muscles. They digest very quickly.
Additional ingredients are:
- Sunflower Oil
- Corn Syrup Solids
- Sodium Caseinate
- Mono and Di-Glycerides
- Dipotassium Phosphate
- Tricalcium Phosphate
- Soy Lecithin
Cocoa Powder (processed with Alkali)
Natural and Artificial Flavors
- Medium Chain Triglyceride
- Non-fat Dry Milk
- Disodium Phosphate
- Silicon Dioxide
Not everyone likes the fact that the supplement contains sucralose, an artificial sweetener, plus many other artificial ingredients. Are these really that bad for you? Not really unless you consume several shakes a day or have some severe allergies.
How To Take Syntha 6
The suggested use for men is to take 1 or 2 scoops of the powder with 4-5 to 8-10 oz. of the beverage of your preference.
The recommendation for women is to take 1 scoop with 4-5 oz. of the desired beverage.
You can take up to 4 or how many servings necessary for meeting your daily protein intake. The powder may be used at any time of the day from when you’re having breakfast to at night before you go to bed. It is excellent for a post-workout shake and you can use it as a low-calorie meal replacement.
Who Should Take Syntha 6
Syntha 6 is made for people trying to build lean muscle or add an extra dose of protein to their diet.
It is not recommended to take Syntha 6 if you have allergies to any of the following ingredients:
- Fish oil
- Tree nuts
If you are currently pregnant or taking any medications, you should refer to a doctor about using the supplement.
Minors under the age of 18 should not take Syntha 6.
Are There Any Side Effects
One downside is that customers can experience side effects such as abdominal pain, flatulence, and diarrhoea from consuming Syntha 6. This isn’t unusual as not everyone’s immune system will react well to certain ingredients (milk, wheat, etc.) the powder consists of. However, this will be the same when consuming any supplement powder on the market. Some will have no side effects what so ever and some will. I personally have never experienced any when using Syntha 6.
How Well Does Syntha 6 Mix
The product mixes extremely well. This will be down to the stabilizers, synthetic thickeners and mixability enhancers. You can mix it up in a normal shaker bottle and shouldn’t experience any lumps.
Not everyone likes the fact that the supplement contains sucralose, an artificial sweetener, which is understandable as sugar substitutes have the ability to do as much harm as the real thing itself.
Is BSN Syntha 6 Good Value For Money?
You will be looking at a price of around $38 to $42 for the 5lb tub. This sits nicely in line with other premium products of the same quality. You get a nice 48 servings per tub meaning each serving costs 79 cents. This makes it extremely good value for money and puts it at a very similar cost to my all time favourite protein “Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey”.

If you are looking for a super quick release protein, then this isn’t for you. If however, you are looking for an all-around high-quality product with a good time release of fast and slow-digesting proteins, then I would highly recommend Syntha 6
Syntha 6 won’t be for everyone though. If you are someone who likes to stay away from products with artificial ingredients then you might want to look at something like “Natural Force Organic Whey Protein”.
If you don’t have any allergies and have never experienced stomach issues when supplementing with protein before, then Syntha 6 might just be the high-quality protein powder you have been searching for.
It’s great value for money, mixes well and tastes amazing. Let’s also not forget that it will massively boost recovery after your intense gym session and aid you in building new lean muscle.
